Hotel Lincoln Sign
The Hotel Lincoln was located in La Porte on the Old Lincoln Highway, known today as Highway 2.  This sign was acquired by the La Porte County Historical Society and was in need of modification and restoration.  They needed it to be able to hang flush on a wall for display in their Museum located in La Porte.
The sign hung on the front of the building extending out to the road so it was visible from both sides.
The panels were then completely rewired using the original sockets.  The picture to the right shows the signs original wiring.
The panels on one side were removed and a wooden frame was added to even out the back allowing the sign to sit flush against a wall.
Brackets were fabricated to allow the sign to hang on a wall and the white and green colors were enhanced by very light painting.  This piece now hangs in the La Porte County Historical Museum.
